Youth Empowerment Scholarship

Small towns present complex challenges. These challenges often create extreme obstacles for the children who are born and raised within its communities. The keys to solving problems and to creating pathways for our children to overcome these obstacles reside within the capable hands of the residents and former residents of our small towns. The Youth Empowerment Scholarship is sponsored by a Moss Point native who has a desire to push his community forward. The focus of this award is to create and maintain an ongoing effort to inspire young black males to attend college. This scholarship initiative hopes that the award recipient can help to encourage his community toward a prosperous future. The future of Moss Point, MS needs strong leaders who not only look to create opportunities for themselves but are also pillars of the community.
Requirements:
Applicants must be an African American Male graduating from Moss Point High School.
Applicants must plan to attend a junior college or university in Mississippi.
Scholarship Inclusion:
The recipient of this scholarship will receive (2) $750 installments, paid directly to the junior college or university of his choice.
Application Requirements:
Applicants will be required to submit a 2-4 minute video presentation answering the following question.

Please include the following in your response:
Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA; must submit school transcript when applicable.
