Riverside High School Pay It Forward Annual Scholarship

Situated in the rural Mississippi Delta, just a few miles south of Greenville, MS, Riverside High School is a place we all called home. Seventeen years later, we decided to show our appreciation to a community that helped to raise us all. In the spirit of love, The Riverside High School Class of 2000, presents the Pay it Forward Annual Scholarship. It is our hope that we can inspire the next generation and generations to follow to become great leaders, trailblazing pioneers, and selfless community servants.

 

Requirements:

• The recipient must be a high school senior currently enrolled in Riverside High School in the state of Mississippi.

 

• The recipient must plan to attend a junior college or university in the state of Mississippi.

 

 

Scholarship Inclusion:

The recipient of this scholarship will receive a $1,000 scholarship paid directly to the junior college or university of his/her choice.

 

Application Requirements:

Applicants will be required to submit a 2-4 minute video presentation answering the following question.

 

What is Bullying?

 

Please include the following in your response:

• introduction. Please tell us your name, where you are from, your current high school, and where you plan to attend college.
• response. What is Bullying? Describe the different types of bullying.
• personal. What can you do to help prevent bullying?
• lessons. What do you think your school should do to prevent bullying?
• benefits. What are the benefits of creating a safe learning environment for all students?
• CLOSING. Why do you think it is important to raise awareness about bullying in schools?

 

Some Advice:

• Try to restate the questions in your response.
• Remember posture is important.
• Record your video with appropriate lighting using a neutral background.
• Pick a quiet area.
• Dress appropriately.
• Your final submission should be free of grammatical errors.
